The thing is, whenever I check back in with DM1, I find more to like. Yes, its all sample-based. And, yes, its sample sets are filled with sounds from old, cherished drum machines (including a set based on my beloved Yamaha RX machines!), but they've expanded its sample sets quite a bit from its first release. And, the interface continues to impress me. Despite its fairly minor limitations, its a blast to use, enough that its fun just to mess around in its textured black boxes and screens.
Tonight's loop was created using the "Melodic" sound set which is more chime than drum loop, an almost music box-like sound that makes me curious about what other sounds could be inserted into the Fingerlab DM1 app. Rainy Night is eight bars in length, containing three different bar length patterns. It uses the Fingerlab DM1 app's Overdrive and Delay effects, which are my favorite of the bunch.
