.964 The Echo: Riptide

As I mentioned a few days ago, when I posted the Conga Line Echo patch, I haven't spent as much time with The Echo as I expected to when I saw the first few Reason 6 announcements. I had been clamoring for a more advanced delay effect than Reason 1's DDL-1 and The Echo looked like a dream come true, but when I downloaded and installed Reason 6, I just never got around to messing with it.

That was, as I've been learning, a huge mistake. As powerful as the Pulveriser is, The Echo might be worth the price of the upgrade alone, and the more I use it, the more I'm impressed by its abilities.

Today's patch is called Riptide, thanks to its slightly underwater vibe, a rolling echo effect that doesn't overpower a sound (thanks to its lowered Dry/Wet value), but doesn't hide from notice either. If you want to build up some excitement or interest in a track make sure you automate The Echo's Feedback knob.
